Superior Block Corporation is the only manufacturer of concrete block in the five boroughs.  The Superior Block manufacturing facilities are located in Brooklyn, in the former Old Dutch Brewery.  We opened our first plant in 1997, and in response to high demand, we opened a second plant in 2007.

Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is capable of producing over 40,000 units per day.  From standard grey block to architectural units, we pride ourselves on manufacturing the highest quality masonry products.  Our certified management team and qualified technicians work together to manufacture concrete masonry units (block) for any project, from standard to custom design.  We can meet your specifications for fire rating, strength and aesthetic appeal.  We use only the highest quality cement and raw materials.  As a result of our commitment to quality, our masonry products continue to be recognized as the benchmark in the industry.  We have an in house testing lab, where our block is tested on a regular weekly schedule.  In this way, we are able to monitor and ensure quality control on an ongoing basis. In addition, we are subject to strict independent testing requirements by Underwriter’s Laboratory (U.L.).  Our block conform to U.L. fire safety, and ASTM specifications.  Our “green” recycled block incorporate 20% post industrial recycled waste and conform to USGBC specifications.  Please see our Products Page and Sustainability Page to learn more about our products.

Under the leadership of our Plant Manager, Javier "Bob" Acevedo, we have consistently produced a quality product, while at the same time responding to the changing needs and requirements of the construction industry.

Our products are distributed exclusively through our sister company Glenwood Mason Supply Company Inc.  Please call the Glenwood Mason Supply sales office for product and price inquiries, as well as to place orders.  Superior Block is proud to be a member of the New York State Concrete Masonry Association as well as the National Concrete Masonry Association.
